The Rix Souffle Caramelise chocolate bar is interesting, in the way that packaging certainly out wins the quality. This is a milk chocolate bar therefore, it is much sweeter. I honestly cannot taste any of the caramel flavour which is odd as the name implies "Caramelise". I must be missing something, or is that the whole point of the bar, just slap the title on the packaging but omit the caramelized flavour. It must be in there somewhere, far away. I took a large enough bite from this bar, and allowed the chocolate to mush around and disintegrate. Melting action was on the slower side, but I must admit, it was somewhat pleasant. Thirty seconds is the approximate time it took for the chocolate to thoroughly melt. Once this has been completed, the puffed rice is all that is left for you to nibble on. The combination of chocolate and puffed rice is actually not a bad idea. It works!!! So then what went wrong? Well most importantly, the chocolate quality itself is not of a high grade by any means. That is a huge factor in the taste of any chocolate. I sometimes wonder how the Maison Bouche bars can be sold at that price, and who buys them, really? This is a disappointing treat, and should cost no more than a few dollars. Oh, I know, it is the packaging. If the packaging was not so appealing, I would have not have given this bar a second thought. I think that most of the expenditures from the Maison Bouche Company is spent on packaging, and lacking quite a bit in taste and quality. Boo hoo.

I realize that this is not a chocolate bar or a chocolate covered bon bon of any sort, and you are probably wondering why would I include this post in the Chocolisciously Delightful Website. Well, here are my reasons: it can be dunked in hot chocolate, baked with chocolate for a rich treat, added to chocolate for a marshmallow bar, mixed with nuts for a brittle, and the possibilities are completely endless. I was so excited to finally try these exquisitely wrapped marshmallows however,I am sorry to disappoint and say that I cannot at this time, complete the review. These treats are stale, and not just a little. It is so bad to the point where I am unable to taste anything other than the oldness of the marshmallows. It would be unfair to rate them until I exchange the item. I cannot believe that Butter would allow something musty to sit on their countertops, ready to be bought. I even went to their one and only location in Vancouver, and purchased directly from them. I imagined that they have a better turnover on their one and only product that made them famous, the Butter marshmallows. Stay tuned for an update on my experience at the Butter Shop. I will provide a full review.
Let me start off by saying that the wrapping for this chocolate is sooooo dazzling. This bar can be included in a gift basket, and it would definitely attract quite a bit of attention. It is on the smaller side though, but I oversaw that as I was too busy admiring the gorgeous packaging, pink and very girly, my two favourite combinations. Okay, off to the review. There is 55% of dark chocolate in this bar therefore, it is not that sweet. I broke off a piece to test the structure, and I must say that it is quite solid. I was surprised, in a negative way. I then took a good bite, and my end result = disappointment, with a capital D! I could detect the passion flavour, but it is very artificial and does not resemble anything close to passion. The dark chocolate itself is not of the best quality. There is a smoothness when the bar is melting in my mouth but at the same time, it is as though sandpaper was rubbing up against my teeth. The taste did not linger, and I was left with a truly bitter punch without the so called included "passion fruit flavour". There are supposed to be meringue pieces in this bar but unless you actually physically see them, the texture and taste is pretty much muted. If you are a sucker for great packaging, this product is just for you, but if you are looking for a delectable treat to pleasantly devour in, then I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. I had high hopes for this bar as the packaging is awfully dreamy. Last words of wisdom "Never judge a book by its cover". So true.
Ingredients: 55% Dark Chocolate, (Sugar, Cocoa Beans, Cocoa Butter, Soya Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Extract, Meringue Pieces (Sugar, Egg Whites, Pure Vanilla Extract), Passion Fruit Flavor Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 2.3 / 5.0 I thought that it would be most appropriate to incorporate the Organic Chocolates Blog alongside the High-End Blog as these organic bars are not entirely budget-friendly. They will empty your pockets a bit as organic bars are usually unaffordable if purchased regularly. Per bar cost is anywhere from $4.00 - $6.00. It does add up very quickly. Anyhow, let's move on to the review. I like the fact that the Theo bars are fair trade and Non-Gmo verified. It puts my mind at peace knowing that I am not only helping impoverished families somewhere around the world, but also consuming something without artificial ingredients. Yeahhh. This bar is quite nice, very subtle and super healthy. The 70% dark chocolate is a powerful source of antioxidants. It also helps to lower blood pressure and increase blood flow throughout the human body. I would raise my glass of hot chocolate and toast to that. The shredded coconut is not overwhelming the chocolate and vice versa. I appreciate the simplicity of this bar. It does have a nice and slow melting action but that is not a disadvantage in this case. Once the chocolate has faded in your palate, the coconut peers through for a bit of left-over chewing. Very nice. The 70% dark chocolate is a bit bitter but that is expected as there is no artificial sweetener of any sort, just a small amount of some good old-fashioned sugar. I feel healthier already. This is a great option for anyone who is looking to satisfy their sweet tooth without the associated guilt trip.
Ingredients: Cocoa Beans, Sugar, Toasted Coconut, Cocoa Butter, Ground Vanilla Bean Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 3.7 / 5.0 Chocolate "saturated" with caramel. Wow, a prodigy. It is hard not to make this truffle as one of my favourites. Trust me when I say this. If you are still skeptical, have a taste, and let me know what you think. They have a delightful bite with a very smooth texture, much creamier than other Lindt truffles. Thank you caramel!!! You can tell that this is not your ordinary milk chocolate truffle as there is definitely something different. Initial gnaw - the outer shell of chocolate is first in line to make its way through. You then wait, have patience, endure the delay, and a second bite later, baba boom, the caramel finally peeks through, though in the most subtle way. The chocolate is clearly infused with caramel, it is not that you can barely taste the ingredient that makes these truffles different. Nevertheless, what you do not expect is the placid or should I say mild essence of the caramel. It is just ever so slightly there. At the end of your truffle extravagance, you are left with a delightful caramel taste in your mouth, and the chocolate is not coming back once again to say hello. The cocoa butter is of course one of the main ingredients in this truffle as is in all the other Lindt bon bons. That is what distinguishes the Lindors from other truffles on the market. As you can see from the ingredients below, the cocoa butter is very high on the list. Suggestion - grab you coat, walk, bike, skate, ride, fly, whatever you must do in order to get to your nearest Lindt Boutique or Chocolate Shop. Once there, guiltlessly buy and indulge in truffles, all sorts of sizes and flavours. Today is your day. Do not think about anything or anyone who has a stressful or negative impact in your life. Just allow your brain to wander and visualize places, people, or things that make you cheerful and content. Just be in the moment with yourself and chocolate. A refreshing and marvelous feeling.
Ingredients: Milk Chocolate [Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Barley Malt Powder, Vanillin (Artificial Flavoring)], Vegetable Oil (Coconut, Palm Kernel), Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Caramel Paste (Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Cream, Salt, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Milk, Chocolate, Skim Milk, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Barley Malt Powder, Salt Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 4.7 / 5.0 A white chocolate review, at last. I do not discriminate between dark, milk, nor white chocolate as I am smitten with them all. What I dislike is poor quality of ingredients in each category. That is not the case with these Lindor truffles. They are truly full of cheer. At first bite, the soft, gooey white chocolate just disappears ever so quickly, gone, goodbye, arrivederci, auf wiedersehen, au revoir, and not to be seen again until you devour in another. It cannot be the end of the world, all you have to do is just eat more. Oh, calamity, booo hooo. Another amazing bon bon to destroy. Okay, enough said. I guess you get the point. The truffles are literally like butter. I could not believe it myself. You could probably smear them on a piece of bread for a chocolate spread. Just a thought, I must admit, it is a good one though. Having said all of this, please give these little bon bons a try, especially if you are going to have a party. They would not only make for an enticing treat but, also as a dazzling centerpiece.
Ingredients: White Chocolate [Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Milk, Skim Milk, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier) Artificial Flavor], Vegetable Oil (Coconut, Palm Kernel), Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Milk, Skim Milk, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Artificial Flavors Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 3.8 / 5.0 Dark chocolate alongside milk chocolate = a subtle, rich treat without the sugar buzz. Do not get me wrong, there are sweeteners in these truffles but since the addition of dark chocolate, it is not very prominent. These bon bons still retain their smooth, silky taste thanks to the well-known Lindt cocoa butter. I truly enjoyed these delights at first taste and last. The whole dark chocolate truffle experience was very mellow, and sometimes that is exactly what you need. On days when you want to create a Zen environment, perhaps meditate, enjoy time with family, practice yoga, paint, whatever your heart desires, the Lindt Dark Truffles are a great addition to make one's day extraordinarily serene. These are definitely Sunday bon bons, the day to truly unwind. Very nicely done Lindt.
Ingredients: Dark Sweet Chocolate [Sugar, Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Skim Milk, Milkfat, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Vanillin (Artificial Flavoring), Vegetable Oil (Coconut, Palm Kernel), Sugar, Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Milk, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Barley Malt Powder, Artificial Flavors Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 3.4 / 5.0 For all of you Java lovers out there, this post is for you. Cocoa butter, chocolate, and coffee, all fused together to form the middle element of the bon bon, surrounded of course, by the famous Lindt chocolate. I would have expected the coffee to overpower all of the other ingredients since it is the "star of the act". I was though, pleasantly surprised. Once you have submerged the truffle in your mouth, the chocolate is the first ingredient that you can taste followed by a bit of a jolt from the mid-elements which of course, hauls the coffee. That coffee aftertaste eventually subsides as you continue to allow the chocolate to melt in your mouth. The truffle dissolves and disappears quickly as it is very smooth, and what you are left with is synchronously tart and sweet. Now all you need is coffee, coffee truffles, and a great book. You can never overdo the amount of Brews. "Expresso Yourself!"
Ingredients: Dark Chocolate [Sugar, Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Butterfat, Lactose, Skim Milk, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Vanillin (Artificial Flavoring)], Vegetable Oil (Coconut, Palm Kernel), Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate, Milk, Coffee, Skim Milk, Butterfat, Lactose, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Barley Malt Powder, Artificial Flavor, Bourbon Vanilla Beans Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 3.9 / 5.0 Yummy, good start to this post right. The truth about these Lindt Teddy bears is that they are absolutely exceptional. I finally managed to open one a few days ago as I was previously hesitant due to their beautiful and perfect stance. I initially took a little bite and wow, wow, wow, seriously, the taste of this particular milk chocolate is divine. There is nothing fancy about these teddy bears, no sprinkles, no peanut butter, no caramel, no biscuits, no gummies, no nuts, just plain chocolate. I could not believe the exceptional excellence of this chocolate. After five minutes of breaking piece after piece and indulging, the teddy was all gone. It was one of the best chocolates that I have ever eaten. Quality = two thumbs up. The chocolate melts in your mouth, and leaves a perfect aftertaste of cocoa and milk. Just right, one does not overwhelm the other. It is not just concoction of the ingredients together that is delightful. I am thinking that perhaps the Swiss cows must have been fed gold somewhere along the way. They definitely produced a golden product.
Ingredients: Sugar, Milk Ingredients, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Lactose, Soya Lecithin, Barley Malt Extract, Artificial Flavor Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 4.8 / 5.0 Okay, here it goes. I realize that this is not only a high-end chocolate brand that is supposed to be one of the best in the United States, but the company is apparently so picky, that they reject 40% of the cocoa beans shipped to them in order to select the "highest" quality seeds. Do not get me wrong, I think that this is a smart move, and very appreciated by people who are always in search for the finer chocolates in life, such as myself. Having said that though, I am truly disappointed with this creation of milk and white chocolate. At first bite, I am expecting something special, something smooth, just something. I am in for a bit of a surprise. Nothing, my palate says nada, and it is not longing for more. Surprise! The aftertaste in my mouth is bitter, but at the same time obnoxiously sweet. The type of taste that you would just want to erase with a quick toothbrush session. Seriously. I tried, I really did to like this chocolate, but I am sorry Ghirardelli, not this one. I am sure that they do make other chocolates and bon bons that are outstanding, and I will eventually get to devour them all. This was clearly not it.
