PASSION FRUIT MERINGUE MAISON BOUCHE BAR

Let me start off by saying that the wrapping for this chocolate is sooooo dazzling. This bar can be included in a gift basket, and it would definitely attract quite a bit of attention. It is on the smaller side though, but I oversaw that as I was too busy admiring the gorgeous packaging, pink and very girly, my two favourite combinations. Okay, off to the review. There is 55% of dark chocolate in this bar therefore, it is not that sweet. I broke off a piece to test the structure, and I must say that it is quite solid. I was surprised, in a negative way. I then took a good bite, and my end result =  disappointment, with a capital D! I could detect the passion flavour, but it is very artificial and does not resemble anything close to passion. The dark chocolate itself is not of the best quality. There is a smoothness when the bar is melting in my mouth but at the same time, it is as though sandpaper was rubbing up against my teeth. The taste did not linger, and I was left with a truly bitter punch without the so called included "passion fruit flavour". There are supposed to be meringue pieces in this bar but unless you actually physically see them, the texture and taste is pretty much muted. If you are a sucker for great packaging, this product is just for you, but if you are looking for a delectable treat to pleasantly devour in, then I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. I had high hopes for this bar as the packaging is awfully dreamy. Last words of wisdom "Never judge a book by its cover". So true.
