Once again, the Truffle Pig is in the house. Oh yeah! I think that this company makes amazing chocolates. I do not have many negative things to say about any of their items that I have tried so far. I will be purchasing more, for testing purposes of course, it is purely business. Ha ha ha. Let’s delve into the review now, shall we!!! This chocolate bar is so delicious that I do not know where to start. It is very creamy, and melts in your mouth at a perfect rate. I give it an A+++ in that department. There is nothing grainy or sandy in the consistency. The aftertaste is pure hazel nutty delight. The amount of hazelnuts added is absolutely perfect, and not even one item overpowers the other. The ingredient list is pretty impressive as well, nothing is unnatural or out of the ordinary. I give it twenty thumbs up, that includes both hands and feet. You get the point. Seriously, if you have not had a chance to try the Hagensborg Truffle Pig Dark Hazelnut Chocolate, you are truly missing out. This bar pairs well with my latte, which of course, I am in the process of drinking. Yummyliscious and succulent, yes it does give off a boost in mental nourishment.

The name is absolutely adorable. Seriously, whoever though of this is genius! How original and lovable. I am mad for piglets and chickens, who knows why? One animal oinks and the other cocododle dooos. Two of the most delightful sounds. If I had a farm, I would definitely include these two for pets. I currently have three Pomeranians, who are by far my best friends. They never show any judgmental behaviour, do not talk back or yell, are content with what they have, and are always wagging their tail happily regardless of the circumstances. They are also very loyal. I cannot ask for better companionship. I will be including my babies in some of my pictures as they will model alongside the chocolates. I call them the 3 M’s as their names are Muffy, Molly and Melia. Awe!!! Okay, back on track now, the review. This is an outstanding bar. The chocolate is of quality, and once it has disappeared in your palate, the peanut butter flavour emerges. It is a very soft almost like a creamy spread. Nothing is grainy here, and no bitterness whatsoever. There is a salty aftertaste which balances the sugar. Truly a good idea. I love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, so much that I have been caught in the past more times than I can remember scooping a chocolate spread with a gallop of peanut butter for a yummmmiliscious bite!!! Now we are talkin'. A small flaw in the truffle bar though is the palm oil ingredient. They should have just stuck with more cocoa butter. It would have even tasted better, if that is possible. Lastly, why does it say on the ingredient list “natural vanilla?” “Natural”, is vanilla considered unnatural? I do not know the answer to this but what I do know is that natural means nothing on labels. There is no standard definition for the term “all natural” or “natural” when used in processed foods. This leaves it wide and open for ‘interpretation.’ The term is only regulated on meat and poultry. A natural product in the processed food department can be almost anything, genetically modified, full of pesticides, made with corn syrup, additives, preservatives, and artificial ingredients. What I do know is that it does not sound right, very odd if I must add. Enlighten me please on this topic by sending an email or comment in the comment box below. Regardless of the contradictory and unfavourable ingredients, the rest on the list are perfectly fine as I can read and pronounce every single word. This chocolate bar is so delicious that I am reaching for seconds. Now I know what the name implies, once you taste the Hagensborg Truffle Pig Peanut Butter Chocolate, it is almost unavoidable to become a little pig, truffle pig that is. I must admit, I became one today.

It is the new “gal on the block” and I have to say “Welcome”. This is a seriously good chocolate bar. The blackcurrants are intense as the title claims. Nothing hidden here. From the very first bite, the fruit can be tasted, and it lasts until the end of the chocolate adventure. The almonds emerge quite quickly upon the smooth melting action, and retain their crunch until completion of consumption. The chocolate is of great quality, and I taste zilch of graininess, no bitterness, no sandy consistency of any sort, just some fruit, a very elegant texture. This is an intense blackcurrant bar, but not an intense dark chocolate due to the sweetness of the fruit. The aroma is quite strong, so much that I can smell it a mile away, metamorphically speaking of course, but you get the point. It is very fragrant. On the downside, the ingredient list is a hefty “D.” Please read them down below. Yuckkkkkk. Why add this?????????? In conclusion, I do enjoy the taste of this Intense Blackcurrant Dark Chocolate, and it also pairs well with a good cup of mint tea. However, due to the poor quality of gunk ingredients, I will have to deduct quite a few points in the overall rating.
Ingredients: 49% Cacao Solids, Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Fruit Preparation (Blackcurrant Juice, Sugar, Apple, Pineapple Fibres, Sodium Alginate, Calcium Phosphate, Artificial Flavour, Potassium Citrate, Color, Citric Acid), Almonds, Cocoa Butter, Butterfat, Soya Lecithin, Natural Flavour, Artificial Flavour Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 2.9 / 5.0 Isn’t this photo just awesome, the dark chocolate in front of the bookshelf background? I just love it since am obsessed with the smell and feel of books. Let’s not forget the shiny pages of photos. Nothing beats a paper book, I am still old-fashioned in that sense. I am not a huge fan of reading on my iPad, nor iPhone, e-reader or computer tablet. I just do not know why. However, I do appreciate the convenience of having ten books stored in my electronic devices though when I am travelling, but that is as far as it goes. At home, I love, love, love my paper books. Okay, I get carried away at times therefore, here is the review. This Ecuadorian Dark Chocolate is fairly good, although a bit on the bitter side, more so than the 99% dark chocolate that Lindt has to offer. The beans are harvested in the tropical coastal areas of Ecuador, and that is the reason for this harsh aftertaste. It is still creamy, and the melting action is fine, but there is a very faint sandy taste. I am a bit surprised about that since Lindt is known for their famous cocoa butter in all of their chocolate bars, larger amount in some than others such as the Lindt Truffle Balls. I do appreciate the ingredients as there are no artificial flavours nor any hydrogenated oils of any kind. This Chocolate bar offers a very intense flavour. If you are looking for something that will give you a “pick me up jolt” without the sugary effect, then this Lindt Excellence Ecuador 75% Dark Chocolate Bar is just for you. Pair it up with a good sweet fruit and you have yourself a real healthy treat.

I enjoy seeing the cranberries just floating around, looking ever so scrumptiously red, and hovering on top of a dark chocolate square that contains small pieces of cranberries and almonds. The whole graphics is quite refreshing. I just had to get that off my chest. Moving on!!! When I first read this chocolate combination at the Lindt Boutique, I thought to myself, wow, who would have thought to group chocolate and cranberries, together. I knew right there and then that this is coming home with me. My thoughts are quite positive in the taste test department, although it turns ugly once I read a few of the ingredients. It just makes my eyebrow rise. Back to the optimistic side. This is a very tasteful bar. It is not overly bitter by any means, it has a nice melting action, and just when you though the last of the flavour has disappeared, the cranberries emerge. I can barely taste the almond slivers as the amount is so minimum. Oh well, the bar is supposed to be intense cranberry, not intense almonds so I will let this one go. Aftertaste is pleasant, nothing gritty or coarse. Here comes the downside: ingredients. Okay, what is up with the honey powder? Please, someone out there, enlighten me! Why not add the real thing, honey??? I am also not appreciating the artificial flavour. Why Lindt, why? Your chocolates are usually of great quality, why ruin it. Lastly, instead of incorporating sunflower oil, there should be more cocoa butter. Is this a way for Lindt to make this bar generally more affordable by using cheaper ingredients or is Lindt trying to make more money by using sub-standard elements, and still selling the bar for a high price? What is the deal? This really is unfavourable for the rating. It is such a shame since this Cranberry Dark Chocolate Bar is absolutely pungent.

How do you like that opening astonishment! This is one phenomenal piece of chocolate. Lindt, how did you ever come up with this splendid concoction??? Whoever invented this at the Lindt cocoa factory, I bow to you. It is all around perfect, even the packaging with the coffee brittles sticking out. All the ingredients are at an ideal amount, none overpowers the other in the slightest bit. However, I have to be a party pooper for a second, and state the one and only downfall of this chocolate bar, the ingredient list. Artificial flavour and fructose are on the LIST. I kind of understand the first ingredient yet, I never approve. However why fructose in cocoa, I am puzzled??? Someone, please let me know. Educate me! However, after that setback, here comes the boost. The coffee is not paralyzing in terms of it being too strong, or too little that you barely even know it is there. I feel as though I am really taking a sip of a chocolate latte macchiato. I drop a piece in my mouth, and the ride begins. Yahoo. Melting action 8+, smoothness 10+, brittle infestation 100+. You get the point. Nothing grainy, perfect brittle sizes, aftertaste = pure macchiato. 2 in 1, have your coffee and chocolate in one go. Save time and money, He He He.
