CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR EDITION - DECEMBER 25 OR DAY 25

This my dear and wonderful chocolate friends is the end to my Advent Calendar Edition Competition. It has been a ball! Some of the days throughout have been great, and others not so much, due to many chocolate aspects. I strive to bring awareness to ingredients and at the same time, rate based on taste, texture, aftertaste, and appearance of wrapping and chocolate. I am incredibly optimistic that 2017 will see a fantastic turn-around with many chocolate makers in terms of what they add to their cacao beans. Of course, at the same time, it does have to be scrumptious. You cannot have healthy without tasty. Having said that, I would like to immensely thank everyone who took the time to read my Christmas blogs. You have given me a wonderful opportunity to spread my message that you can eat chocolate daily, lots of it too, but with the right ingredients. I send you all gigantic chocolate hugs, wherever you might be on this beautiful world.

GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Yes, Godiva did deliver a bon bon for Day 25 of their Advent Calendar Edition. It is an utterly unique shape, so much so that I do not know what it is. Initially, it looks like four sided but then upon closer look, it could be 8, 12 or in the end, even circular. That is up to the imagination of every individual who is lucky enough to devour. As for the chocolate, itself, I would have appreciated something a bit more lavish for the very last day of the competition however, I am happy that something was included instead of not. Taste: the chocolate is super creamy, a bit of a buttery flavour mixed with caramel. It smacks like a grandmother eating with no teeth, not always a bad thing. There is a sweetness with a ting to keep you guessing. I do not perceive the mystery as anything worthwhile but it is there. Also, gifts are being unboxed today as it is the 25th day of December, come on now, did you forget. Anyhow, this makes it a double wham bam, ham, and come on now, nothin’ but a jam! Yahhoooooooo!

ROGERS’ CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Rogers’ was also generous by providing us an absolutely stunning red foil bon bon for Day 25 of their Advent Calendar Edition. This is some seriously exquisite Choco that has left me speechless. Way to go Mr. You will forever be my best friend! Now, let’s go, and open presents. I am jumping up and down with joy!

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Out on the sugar fields with 1600 scientists, trying to figure out why sugar? Why is it in all foods, everywhere, and anywhere. What makes this ingredient so popular, besides taste. It is the culprit of many diseases. This goes for all sorts of sweeteners that are under different names. It is a bit sad actually.

KINDER - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Back to Italy in the land of coffee, pasta, pizza, Medici’s, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, piazzas but wait, not chocolate? Kinder has some re-thinking to do for perhaps hmmmmmmmmmmmm, a different bon bon for a different day? How hard can that be? Kinder is keeping all chocos the same. Boring, and disappointing!

LINDT - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Unfortunately, regrettably, sadly, sorry to say that Lindt did not make it any further in this Advent Calendar Edition Competition. Well actually, it should have been the end for them long ago but I gave Lindt the benefit of the doubt. Despite my benevolence, their daily bon bons were outright stale and rancid. I was hopeful that there would come a day, any day for that matter where I would happily find a Choco that did not make me ill. That day never came. Here is the link to the occurrence that finally led me to say goodbye:

GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Once again, a reminiscent of a previous day. This bon bon has been seen before. No doubt about that! It still looks gorgeous though the second, third, and fourth time around. I adore the small little crushed nuts sprinkled ever so delicately on top, just to give it some pizzazz. The job is successfully done. This by the way is a milk chocolate that I am referring to for Day 24 of Godiva’s Advent Calendar Edition. The shape is circular, the Choco is dense enough to remember and realize that Godiva has not become thrifty overnight. They still prefer to give than receive! Taste: Creamy consistency on the inside, and the nuts provide just enough texture for a crunch on the outside. Unfortunately though, the sweetener is too dense, and the melt I would say is satisfactory. Overall, a C+ in my book.

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Unsweetened Chocolate, Milk Powder, Cocoa Butter, Glucose Syrup (Wheat), Cream, Hazelnuts, Sorbitol Syrup, Butter Oil (Milk), Sweetened Condensed Milk, Invert Sugar Syrup, Milk, Butter, Water, Vegetable Oil (Palm Kernel Palm), Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Palm Kernel), Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Skim Milk Powder, Natural Flavour, Apple, Raspberries, Wheat Flour, Cocoa Powder, Passion Fruit Juice Concentrate, Salt, Corn Starch, Cinnamon, Malic Acid, Milk Protein, Lactose, Barley Malt Flour, Artificial Flavour, Pectin, Citric Acid

Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 2.9 / 5.0

ROGERS’ CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Milk chocolate in gold foil, ohhhhhh, it looks so rich! I cannot help but smile with the impeccable simplicity of Rogers’ chocolates. It is such a minimalist approach that they have managed to form but somehow, it all comes together to present perfection. Another daily winner here!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Soya Lecithin, Vanilla)

Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 4.9 / 5.0

PURDY’S CHOCOLATIER – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Purdy’s should be out of the running by now. They have pushed it to the limits. I cannot believe the amount of chances I have been generously giving them. Once again, a duplication that is from a very, very recent day of this "Advent Calendar Edition." At the very least, Purdy’s employees should have thought about putting a bigger gap between the same looking chocolates throughout the advent calendar. As for taste, I must admit, it is all wrong. Purdy’s has been one of the weakest contenders in this Advent Calendar Edition, and they just keep plummeting. The chocolate concoction is an insult to other chocolate makers on all levels. Do not get me started now!

LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Now this is Christmas! How beautiful is the milk chocolate angel holding a star from Lädearch’s 24th day of their Advent Calendar! She looks gentle, sympathetic, and remorseful but yet at the same time, a bit arrogant. Her wings are made of white chocolate but it is so minimal that the taste gets lost. Ohhhhhh, I just bit her head off, and it was delicious!!! I am truly sorry. Does it make it any better if the angel knows that I am testing, comparing, and at the same time trying to make the world a better place by bringing awareness to ingredients in chocolates? Now that I worded it in that manner, I feel a little better. The taste is spectacular, as most of the other Advent Calendar Days from this Swiss chocolate maker are. I just finished devouring the rest, and it was a creamy, indulging, scrumptious, nutty, and lastly, I want more. Now how could Läderach not realize their full potential if only the ingredient list is altered; not tweaked though as there are too many things to substitute or remove. Laderach's chocos would then be nothing short of perfection. I am looking forward to seeing this change for next year. I am eagerly waiting!!!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Skim Milk Powder, Hazelnuts, Cocoa Mass, Almonds, Plant Oils, Palm Kernel Oil, Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Milk Powder, Butter (Milk), Glucose, E-420, Walnuts, Honey, Wheat, Gluten, Milk Cream, Inverted Sugar, Malt, Gluten, Soya Lecithin, E-471, E-322, Natural Aromas, Gluten, Butter Fat, Natural Aromas, E-904, Aroma, Lactose, Spices, Milk Egg White, E-500, Antioxidants, E-306, Colour E-171 AND E-160B AND E-160 A, E-120, E-100,  Palm Wax, Cocoa Powder, Low Fat

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Smart, oh yes, and once again sophisticated! In addition, Daniel Chocolates tries to make up for their missed Advent Calendar days with yet another mini-mini sized bar, which can qualify as an actual chocolate bar you can purchase in a local grocery store. It looks great. One of my colleagues loves them all, at least in appearance. As for taste, I do appreciate the small ingredient list as less is more in this case. My main complaint though is the glucose level. It is just a tad bit over the top, not much, jusssssttttt a little bit! He He He.

SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Perfect carving of what looks to be a milk chocolate Santa Claus. Hmmm, actually, upon closer inspection, the carving for today is not as flawless as the rest of the Advent Calendar Days. The drumpy faced impression does not work, and Santa’s hat is much too small for his head. Also, there is no portrayal of movement in any way or form in this Choco. I wonder why. Regardless, the taste is also disappointing. Cheap, cheap, and more cheapness. Ingredients, and of course methods are both imperative for a good dessert. In Sinfully The Best’s Case, their cheap ingredients that they source from who knows where are not doing them justice. Perhaps it is Mexico. Well, they are out of luck now as there will be a 20% tax imposed for any imports coming to the US. I believe that this took place this morning. Goodbye guacamole, ahhhhh. Nothing will ever get through without paying US taxes, especially with the huge wall that will also be built between Mexico and America. This my friends will apparently be paid for by the Mexican government from the money imposed on the taxes. It is a vicious circle. Anyhow, I am getting off this topic now as I really do not want to spend time talking about politics on my blog. It is too controversial. The only controversies that I would like to see here should be in relation to chocolate, and food. I do not want to be the burden of starting a fiery brawl. In conclusion, this Choco just did not make the cut!

GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

I am 100% certain that I have seen this bon bon somewhere before. Ah, yes, an occurrence of a repetition once again. Godiva thought that it would be quickly eaten by all and forgotten, but ohhh no my friends, I do remember, and am sending out a reminder. It has been documented therefore the duplication secret is out. No problem though since this bon bon makes up in the appearance department. It does look so very pretty, quite sophisticated, and a lovely exterior. The milk chocolate shavings that are ever so delicate resemble light snowflakes that have just began to fall. Ohhh, so poetic but that is how I feel when I look at this choco. Upon first bite though, I am surprised. The filling is caramel, and you would think that it would be a sweet-fest but no, there is bitterness to it. Actually, it is completely distasteful. Uhhhhh, the aftertaste is so sour. I cannot believe this. Beautiful on outside but yet so ugly on the inside. This choco cannot get any worse. How deceived I feel. The overall taste is so tart that I perceive it as hostile. I feel cheated, and I cannot seem to get past this initial impression. “Do not judge a book by its cover” as the oldest saying goes!

LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

A repetition for Läderach. What is it with these Chocolate Companies, can they not think of something more original, and unique for each individual day of these Advent Calendars. Come on now, surprise the kids a little, or perhaps you want to make them sulk? Not much is going on for the exterior in terms of appearance but upon first devour, this choco is nothing short of spectacular. Creamy, silky, a hazelnut aftertaste that balances the sugar, good pungent that is not overly abundant, and an acceptable melt. Overall, great job Läderach, but please do SOMETHING about this vicious ingredient list. Who wants to consume things with food colouring, palm oil, milk powder, and plant oils to point some of them out? Hmmmm, I wonder what is up with the plant oils. I like the coconut oil ingredient, even the sunflower oil but come on with the rest. "Plant Oils" is too generic. What is really in this concoction of oils. I feel resentful for their harsh ingredient list, and am completely turned off, despite their delicious taste in chocolate. I am hopeful that things will change in the near future with this famous Swiss Brand, and a healthier and improved version will soon be introduced.

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

So adorable, and insanely charming. My best friends are back for Daniel’s Day 23 of their Advent Calendar Edition. Penguins, 3 of them to be precise making their best attempts to plop a star on top of a Christmas tree. I am in a vastly festive mood, and grinning from ear to ear. Yeahhhh! As for taste, ggggggrrrrrreaaaat!@#$ No need to critique my little friends with anything. They are just “perfect.”

SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Wow, I am truly astonished, and utterly in celebration mode since this milk chocolate is absolutely gorgeous. Well, not the chocolate itself to be precise, but the green foil with a music note on one side, and an additional chocolate with gold foil and a music note on the other. Come on, the carving imagination for Sinfully The Best is out of this world. Not only are there no duplications in their advent calendar so far, but the exterior appearance of their chocolates is absolutely one of the best. That is where they earn most of their rating points from. It is certainly not due to their quality in chocolate, or the lack of ingredient list that they have "mistakenly" managed to not provide to us. Their strength is purely superficial. Just pretty on the outside with bad taste, and zero personality on the inside. Flavour: bland milk chocolate that is hard to bite, lack in smoothness, undesirable melt, and cheap cacao mixture. Whatever you are adding to your beans Sinfully The Best, just stop, and back off!!! Get it together, and learn that a quality meal, snack, dessert, even chocolate begins with good ingredients. A cheap list will produce a cheap taste!

GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

A heart shaped milk chocolate with Godiva’s trademark name running across the left side of the bon bon is the pick of the 22nd Day of their Advent Calendar Edition. A duplication of its own kind, but on a positive note. At least the repetitions in the look of each chocolate are days apart, unlike another chocolate maker that has the same theme going, day after day, after day. No need to be a snitch. This piece of choco is shiny in appearance, clean lines, the engraving is of utmost perfection. Outcome, an A- for the outer shell. As for the interior taste, creamy, speedy melt, sweetener could have been on a calmer note, and the lingering nuttiness leaves a nice touch. Overall, a mediocre taste with positive notes.

PURDY’S CHOCOLATIER – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Phewwwww, yes, Santa Claus saved the day. That is the theme for Day 22 of the Advent Calendar Edition for Purdy’s. Santa looks joyful, embracing, inviting, and fresh! What about the taste though, Santa must also deliver in that department? Hmmmm, not so fast, and not so good. Awful actually! Oh, my doodles, it tastes like an ol’ shoe. Well, an overly sweetened ol’ shoe. I think that it is a theme which Purdy’s is aiming for. I have not quite yet figured out what is the content here, but it is safe to say that it is not a pretty one. This is a bad manifestation on all levels. Need I say more?

LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

I am a little bit surprised, and at the same time disappointed for day 22 of Läderach’s Advent Calendar Edition. I will  further elaborate. The reason for my opening statement is that yes, it is a real astonishment to see a bon bon not at all related to Christmas with the pink bow running across it, and yes, disappointed because I actually think that Läderach used this piece of choco from their Valentine’s Day leftover chocolates. Seriously, that makes perfect sense, all of it. They could have at least waited until Valentine’s 2017 to add it in one of their chocolate boxes, but by that time perhaps, the chocolate would taste too stale for sale. Ohhh, that rhymes. Nice! Anyhow, let’s taste and test! Nope, I am so dissatisfied. This is horrible. Yes, musty too. Certainly a leftover. It might have “accidentally” been dropped in all of these Advent Calendars. Unfortunately, this idea cannot be proved. Trust me when I say that there is nothing sweet about this heart and its ribbon. Just an overly-expired piece of choco. Naughty and bad!

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Cuteness and charm is what Daniel delivers once again. It is a repetition of its predecessor days but who’s counting! Overall, this company has good ingredients with a decent taste. My sole complaint though is in taste, predominantly, the sweetness. Wayyyyy tooo much! Also, perhaps the reason for the kindness in the size of these chocolate bars seen here and there in the Advent Calendar is to make up for the days have nothing, nada, zero, nil. It all makes sense now. I was beginning to worry!

SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

A dark piece of choco carved as a moose is what Sinfully The Best brought to us for Day 22 of their Advent Calendar Edition. Perfect from every corner. There is nothing in terms of appearance that needs improvements. It is seriously that flawless. The detail work is of excellence. There is a healthy shine to the chocolate that is quite inviting. Let’s delve in now; for testing purposes of course (he he he). Wow, a pleasant surprise. The dark chocolate tastes rich, and balanced in terms of the cacao and sugar, cacao and butter, cacao and oils, cacao and whatever else they have incorporated in this piece of beautifulness. We still will never know though. Why so secretive with the ingredient list, what is there to hide? Top secret? Oh well, the truth will one day prevail!

Let’s see now, how can it be that Day 21 is already here. Wow, time is flying, where does it really go? If I think about all the things that consume my days, I conclude that yes, it is full by the hour but yet, there is so much more to accomplish. The job(s) is/are never done. Once a task is crossed off my list, a new one is added. The circle of life! No complaints here though, life is a blessing after all. Every day I consider special! This is a much deeper topic that I would love to explore with you all but just not today. Perhaps I can dedicate a whole blog on this kind of mind-thinking. Moving on to the chocolate that Godiva has presented for us today. Firstly appearance, there is nothing that says “Wow." The choco has the shape of a box with white uneven lines running in all sorts of directions. The indefinite of the  definite. It looks too messy and chaotic! Upon initial bite, it is tasteless meaning that for once, Godiva has added too little of a sweetener. How can that be, hmmmm... It is bland from all ends. The chocolate itself is of a cheap milk concoction that I would not even label as chocolate. There is a bit of creaminess to this chocolate however, this is not enough to justify some sort of positivity. Foul!

ROGERS’ CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Green in colour, and a perfect little bon bon for Day 21 of the Advent Calendar Edition for Rogers’. "Life is exuberance" at Rogers’! Be happy! I love the consistency of their perfection!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Soya Lecithin, Vanilla)

PURDY’S CHOCOLATIER – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

What more can I say about Purdy’s, and their 21st Day of the Advent Calendar Edition except a thousand thumbs down! A bell wrapped in purple foil, how original (I am being sarcastic). As for the taste, let’s just say that I would rather hike the Grouse Grind five times over before I need to consume another one of these little chocos. Actually, what am I saying, I love the Grouse Grind hike, no! I meant to say that playing tennis for five hours is better than tasting this grossness, again, wait, what? I love to play tennis, okay, okay, you get the point. Let’s just say that the dentist is calling me before I must endure another one of these bells. Yikes, wait, then there is Day 22, 23, 24… Oh brother!

LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Nice job for Day 21 of the Swiss Chocolate maker! A hazelnut in the middle of the chocolate, and two more at adjacent sides, bonus! We all know Laderach's chocolates are delicious, scrumptious, and yes, I do want more, but are they nutritious? I thiiiiiiiink NOT! Go back to the basics Läderach, elimination is key, 90% of the ingredients! Where do I begin, perhaps the Gluten, Milk Egg White? Now I am in disgust, despite the yumminess.

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Skim Milk Powder, Hazelnuts, Cocoa Mass, Almonds, Plant Oils, Palm Kernel Oil, Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Milk Powder, Butter (Milk), Glucose, E-420, Walnuts, Honey, Wheat, Gluten, Milk Cream, Inverted Sugar, Malt, Gluten, Soya Lecithin, E-471, E-322, Natural Aromas, Gluten, Butter Fat, Natural Aromas, E-904, Aroma, Lactose, Spices, Milk Egg White, E-500, Antioxidants, E-306, Colour E-171 AND E-160B AND E-160 A, E-120, E-100,  Palm Wax, Cocoa Powder, Low Fat

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Cheapness has hit Daniel Chocolates once again. We all got nothing for Day 21 of their Advent Calendar. I wonder why, have we been bad, not deserving? At least they seem to think so.

LINDT - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Unfortunately, regrettably, sadly, sorry to say that Lindt did not make it any further in this Advent Calendar Edition Competition. Well actually, it should have been the end for them long ago, but I gave Lindt the benefit of the doubt. Despite my benevolence, their daily bon bons were outright stale and rancid. I was hopeful that there would come a day, any day for that matter where I would happily find a Choco that did not make me ill. That day never came. Here is the link to the occurrence that finally led me to say goodbye.

SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Gorgeous looking chocolate in a light brown colour portraying a leaf is the chosen gift for Day 21 of the Sinfully the Best Advent Calendar Edition. It is flawless in appearance. I am truly impressed. As for the taste, caramel with nuttiness lingering thereafter. A medium in terms of sweetener, consistency, smell, melt, and smoothness. It is not overly great but yet, not overly poor. I am indecisive on this one, but will be fair with my rating below. Looking forward to Day 22!

CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR EDITION - DECEMBER 20 OR DAY 20

Once again to all my enchanting Choco lovebugs, Day 20 of the Advent Calendar Edition will be done in a briefer manner. I have noticed that all of you chocolate lovelies do enjoy the shorter versions of my Choco blog quite a bit but unfortunately, I must admit, that I love the longer posts!!! You are stuck with me, and my endless writing. Having said that, let the hardship, suffering, difficulty, struggle, exertion, sweat, harsh critique, okay, okay, you get the point now BEGIN! He He He He He. No explanations here, just straightforwardness. I hope that you enjoy it. Let the Choco games begin!

GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Happy Day, Oh Happy Day, what is presented to us from Godiva on the 20th day of December? Oh, a cheerful and delightful little bon bon with sprinkles of confectionary on top. It is enough to make anyone smile. Too much of it would be panic provoking due to the “busy” stance. Too little would mean cheap and thrifty, yikes. Godiva has perfected the amount. They probably even counted each glitz. Milk chocolate it is for Godiva.

Wonderful choice for day 20 of your Advent Calendar Edition. Taste – subtle and nice, everything vice! Okay, I just felt like saying that, I do not really mean the latter. Seriously though, this is an overall nice piece of Choco. Melts great, tastes great, swishes around the mouth great, sugar dump is also great. Wow Godiva, you nailed it this time! Five thumbs up. Now, all you need to do is revamp the ingredients. Lastly, please spend your focus specifically on the Palm Kernel Palm oil which by the way, is a carcinogenic. Seriously Godiva, what are you trying to do, stimulate cancer cells to people. What is your motive? Revenge? Death by chocolate, literally. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm; and the revenge continues.

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Unsweetened Chocolate, Milk Powder, Cocoa Butter, Glucose Syrup (Wheat), Cream, Hazelnuts, Sorbitol Syrup, Butter Oil (Milk), Sweetened Condensed Milk, Invert Sugar Syrup, Milk, Butter, Water, Vegetable Oil (Palm Kernel Palm), Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Palm Kernel), Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Skim Milk Powder, Natural Flavour, Apple, Raspberries, Wheat Flour, Cocoa Powder, Passion Fruit Juice Concentrate, Salt, Corn Starch, Cinnamon, Malic Acid, Milk Protein, Lactose, Barley Malt Flour, Artificial Flavour, Pectin, Citric Acid

ROGERS’ CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Perfection, affection, connection, detection, attraction, well, I am getting a bit carried away here. I felt like a rhyme robot. The truth of it is that Rogers’ is beautiful, from the inside and out. No Palm Oil here. They love their customers. Yahooooo Rogers’.

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Soya Lecithin, Vanilla)

Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 4.9 / 5.0

PURDY’S CHOCOLATIER – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Bell, bell, bell, bell, bell, bell, bell, bell, I cannot look at another one of their bells again. Wow Purdy’s, what obsession and possession do you have with these bells???? Do you not understand that you have overdone it negatively from every angle possible? I am at the point where I just want to throw this piece of Choco in the lake, river, ocean.... Okay, "calm down" I tell myself, and NO, I do not have any anger issues. Purdy's with your bells - f$%*%###%^&*@. I am composing myself now, It is chocolate after all; I need to keep my “cool.” I just do not understand why do they impose this same theme throughout their gorgeous looking Advent Calendar (that is on the outside of course, not in). Excitement – gone! Taste – outright disguising any way you look at it! I am shaking my head now, and that is not a good sign.

LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Teddy bear for Day 20 of Läderach’s Advent Calendar Edition. What a sweetheart he is. Milk chocolate body with white chocolate as paws, dark chocolate for his eyes and buttons. I almost do not want to bite into him but due to work purposes, I must! Here we go bear! Upon first bite, this bear is ever so creamy, and luscious, and nutty, and smooth, and oh, give me more! Nice! Great size also. What child or adult would not want this, especially since it is getting closer to the 25th day of Christmas. So many goodies that I cannot bear (teddy bear, get it) the love. It is overwhelming. Overall, great job on the taste but once again, Läderach is similarly, like Godiva, trying to execute their devoted customers with “Death by Chocolate” due to their Palm Kernel Oil ingredient amongst a few others in this case. How traumatizing!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Skim Milk Powder, Hazelnuts, Cocoa Mass, Almonds, Plant Oils, Palm Kernel Oil, Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Milk Powder, Butter (Milk), Glucose, E-420, Walnuts, Honey, Wheat, Gluten, Milk Cream, Inverted Sugar, Malt, Gluten, Soya Lecithin, E-471, E-322, Natural Aromas, Gluten, Butter Fat, Natural Aromas, E-904, Aroma, Lactose, Spices, Milk Egg White, E-500, Antioxidants, E-306, Colour E-171 AND E-160B AND E-160 A, E-120, E-100,  Palm Wax, Cocoa Powder, Low Fat

Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 3.9 / 5.0

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Generosity is still the main theme of Daniel Chocolates. Despite the gift that keeps on giving, more is not always "more". Mini sized milk chocolate bar is the goodie for Day 20 of their Advent Calendar Edition. No need to say more except that once again, their weakness is in the exaggerated amount of sugar dumped in by the pounds. Lay low mister!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Dry Whole Milk, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Natural Vanilla

SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

A divinely crafted heart is what Sinfully the Best had in mind for Day 20 of their Advent Calendar Edition. May I add that they did a mighty fantastic job. There is a white chocolate plate behind the milk chocolate heart. In this manner, you get the best of both worlds. I could certainly serve this at a sophisticated dinner party. It is appealing enough to view but what about its taste? Does it hold up to its look? Let us all find out right now, one second please! Hmmmm, uhhhhhhh, nooooooo, ahhhh, well, not exactly. Unfortunately, the quality of the chocolate is of such poor quality that the crafting has all been forgotten. The new focus is on the cheap, overly sweetened, and a bit stale Choco. This is regrettably not a winner today.

Once again to all my enchanting Choco lovebugs, Day 19 of the Advent Calendar Edition will be done in a briefer manner. I have noticed that all of you chocolate lovelies do enjoy the shorter versions of my Choco blog quite a bit but unfortunately, I must admit, that I love the longer posts!!! GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

A chocolistic (the equivalent of nationalistic) is for Day 19 of Godiva’s Advent Calendar Edition. Milk is the choice of choco, smooth in appearance, thick and generous, suave and soft, superb melt…. Going great here but did Godiva really have to ruin my "la la la" by dumping a bucket of sugar into this bon bon? There are all of these great things going on here with Godiva’s Chocolates, but it is as though they needed to somehow ruin it all. Perhaps too much of a good thing??? Who knows? Well, actually, only they do! No more sugar Godiva, seriously, step away from the sugar barrel!!!

PURDY’S CHOCOLATIER – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Oh mighty Bell, where have you been? I see..........here all along! You never seem to go away, even though I kind of want you to! One time adorable, two times cute, three times and more – uhhhhhhhhh!!! It is like a guest that overstays their visit! Enough! The chocolate inspector is releasing some top notch info – Sugar, Sweetener, Glucose, Sucrose, you name it, Purdy’s, has it! This does not make it unique, in any way or form. Gotta lay low Purdy’s with the diabetes! This bon bon is of utmost the poorest quality of chocolate. Did I hear Thrift Store Choco! Okay, not that bad but Dollar Store and expired, yes, you got it. That is what it tastes like. Make sure that you greatly take into consideration the expired part. It is very, very important in this experiment. He He He. Overall, thumbs down, how many, well, let’s just say a lot!

LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Läderach is trying to end strong upon the finish line. Did you all take a look at not only the size of this Christmas tree bon bon for Day 19 of their Advent Calendar Edition but also the embellishments? Whoa, somebody is really sucking up, and at the same time, showing off! A pleasure to see this piece in an Advent Calendar. I am grinning from ear to ear, like the Grinch but without the grump. Good job Chocolate confectioners! Now that we have concluded how beautiful this is, let’s delve in for the taste. Here we go again, brilliant! Disappoint me at least more than a few times Läderach, stop being the most popular kid in school. I just did an Irish dance, it is really that good. So soft and smooth, a nice nutty aftertaste that leaves me utterly screaming for more, and a gorgeous sheen to beam at for the exterior. Now this is living or.......maybe not? Sorry to be the "party-pooper" but Laderach, you need to re-think or better yet, redo your ingredient list. You can certainly do without 80% of the garbage. Be innovative and at the same time, think healthy! Overall though, nice taste of bon bon with lousy ingredients!!!

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Nice piece of a mini mini version of an actual chocolate bar. Kindness perseveres with Daniel. He must be watching the Ellen show daily as her moto is “Be Kind To One Another.” Daniel’s Chocolates are all over that, oh yes they are! Good job mate! And……… the party continues, aside from the mediocre taste of the choco. I cannot pinpoint as to where they went cheaply though. Perhaps the cocoa, or the cocoa butter, or better yet, the milk, hmmmmmm! That is it, the milk! It must come from cows that have been injected with antibiotics, hormones, and fed perhaps some bone meal garbage to top it off???? How gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, I am just speculating but that is where the weakness is, at least I think so. If anyone out there knows some secrets, perhaps a past Daniel Chocolates employee, shhhh is the word, except when it comes to me. Send me a private message. Undisclosed info is safe with Soriah!

SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Sinfully the Best, you made a white chocolate bear for Day 19 of your Advent Calendar Edition. Ohhhh, how cute. I just want to squish it, and look at it, and love it, take care of it, kiss it, dine it, okay enough now….! Seriously though, it is too charming. Crafter, whoever you are, Cake Wars and Sugar Showdown are both waiting. Once you get there, and I am sure that you will, please mention me as your inspiration, Soriah, from ChocolisciouslyDelightful! What a great job this individual did. As for the taste, well, that is not in his/her control, they just carve. NO blame there. The white choco is terrible, and I mean outright bad. I cannot even begin to describe how weak of a chocolate concoction this is, from every angle possible. Who is to blame, I think the owner of the choco shop. They must taste their mix prior to, or perhaps not? Bad, bad, bad. I am optimistic for tomorrow. Sorry bear, it has nothing to do with you!

My name is Soriah and I am an enormous lover of fine chocolates. I enjoy strolling through charming towns and by chance, finding a little, delightful chocolate gem hidden in the corner, offering bon bons that are ready to be just devoured.

TO MY CHOCOLATE CUTIES OUT THERE, PLEASE NOTE - I do not discriminate between $$$$$. No, seriously, expensive or budget-friendly, all that really matters to me is whether my taste buds are doing a little hola dance, or sitting in the corner, tearing up. Oh, I almost forgot, quality ingredients in the chocolate is a huge added bonus. That is another great importance that reflects my final rating.
