Hello my lovely chocolate monsters. I am truly soooooo very, and utterly sorry for my absence. Second to that: I apologize! It has been difficult in the last few months for me due to unknown, unhappy, and sorrow circumstances that were beyond my reach. However, I am blissfully delighted to announce that I am back to blogging once again. So incredibly joyful to be able to take beautiful photographs of yummy things, and sit down to write reviews about them. Wow, what an awesome way to spend a day. I will also be revamping my website within the next few weeks. Something fresh, new, chocolaty, and colourfully appeasing that I must do! Please be on the lookout. I am really excited about this change as I was not always very content with the look of my present blog. The current aesthetic is cute and amusing, but I now aspire to bring it to the next level, and make it cool, stylish, chic, elegant, refined, sophisticated, and most of all, lip-smacking, mouth-watering, scrumptious good. Once my website has had a complete overhaul, I plan to regularly post 3 reviews per week. I will also begin to vlog visits to chocolate factories, chocolate boutiques, and/or cooking recipes, all sorts of things. I will post social media links on my blog where it will be visible. A link to my YouTube channel will also be attached. I am more passionate now than ever in regards to my blog, and hope to expand it on a much deeper level. It is not all about indulging, but providing all of my readers with informative information about chocolate from every angle possible. Having gotten that off my chest (it is just a North American expression for all of my readers elsewhere around the globe that might think it is literal), here we go with the review. I was at Trees Organic Coffee yesterday, and saw that they had a new yum in town; Mango Cheesecake. The girl behind the counter told me that this flavour is limited, and will be exiting their coffee shop in about one week, not to be seen again until next year. I thought, what a better opportunity for a comeback than a cheesecake review. Actually, hellllloooo people, a MANGO cheesecake. Yummagamma! I have not yet tried this flavour so the review will be written as I indulge. I am just about to take my first bite. Here we go!!! Upon prime impression, yumymunga, oh yeah, so smoooooooth. In the middle of the slice, there are actually chunks of mango. Impressive with the art, but I have to say that they are not so freshly picked. Second bite from behind the slice, still very tasty, and I sense a hint of orange. The cake is a bit too sweet though, and due to the mono flavour, heavy after a few bites. I normally am a huge fan of the Trees Organic Cheesecakes, but this one felt too dense, even for me. I did enjoy the mango flavour as it was quite prominent, but it did taste on the artificial side. I realize that the mango cheesecake is one of Tree’s “most on demand flavours” during the summer months, and always back in stock due to popularity, but I think that everything in it is a bit over exaggerated. Perhaps, the taste buds of North American individuals are taking them to crave sweeter and more sugary foods. That might be due to the overabundance of foods in general that have been man-made sweetened, in one form or another. The human body then just craves more sugar. Thereafter, the individual will experience a huge drop in energy and get tired, cranky, the "fun" stuff. The only way to get yourself back to life is to load your body with more sugar. This might be fine, but on a very, very temporary basis. Eventually, it the pancreas and liver that cannot function productive and fast enough to process the sugar. Conclusion: failure. Just don’t do it!!! I can guarantee that if you took sugar out of your diet for only two weeks, you will not be even thinking about it let alone craving it thereafter. Let’s get one thing clear though. I am not expressing this concern when it comes to fruit. I normally on average, consume about five bananas per day. This talk was strictly in relation to sugar, artificial sugar, sugar in all form. Overall, I did enjoy the mango cheesecake, but it is certainly not my utter favourite. Trees Organic Coffee Houses have other flavours that sure beat this one out, hands down!!!
