I am back cocoa monsters and chocolate ladybugs, who has a woooo woooo for me!!!!!! So conceited am I, bad Soriah. I just have to state the obvious, and that is I am extremely, extremely happy to be back. I love this blog, enjoy writing soooo much, and the superlative part, chocolate tasting. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s make a song….. On to the review now: I have never heard of this Fresco company before, and decided to look them up. Here is what I found. Fresco prides themselves in the fact that they make pure, dark chocolate using only three ingredients: cocoa beans, cane sugar, and cocoa butter. All of their collection is free of dairy, nut, soy, and gluten. I like their motto so far. The company name Fresco is derived from the Italian language and it means fresh. As the company states “it’s how chocolate should be.” That my friends, I completely agree with! Fresco began from people who loooooooveee chocolate, people like ME!!!! Okay, here we go again with the goofy comments. I must stop and refrain myself. Can I really do that, hmmmm, NO!!! He, he he. Oky doky. Each Fresco bar has “a story to be told” and every chocolate contains the following: recipe number, cocoa origin, cocoa percentage, cocoa roast, and chocolate conche. They are serious about their chocolate at Fresco. So far so good. Upon first bite, the chocolate tasted quite earthy, nutty, and at the same time, lightly sweet. I let the chocolate melt thoroughly before I make up my mind for a yah or nay. I must state that it was a successful round of melting action, good stuff. Nice, smooth, and poignant (I like the word usage for this bar, it just came to me, do not ask). The aftertaste was a bit on the sour side but nothing that I cannot tolerate; the bar I was digging and pleasantly surprised with the taste, that is until……..drumroll please, I found a hair in my piece of chocolate, a hair everyone. This killed everything that I felt for this chocolate, and company altogether at that very moment. It could not get any more disgusting than this, well it can but we will not even go there, or I will need the puke bag. I am shocked, such a poised, “FRESH”, and pure company, that raves so much about their utmost chocolate quality which they hold in the highest honor, had a human hair in one square. So bad, so revolting, ghastly, nauseating, I am going to stop now before I say something that I will later on regret. I hope that others will have a more pleasant experience with Fresco’s products, but I at the moment, have somewhat written them off, and certainly will not be purchasing any more of their everything’s. Sorry Fresco, love the Italian name but preferably without the hair.
