Yet another David’s Tea chocolate review but this time, with a so called ingredient as “blueberry jam.” That really peaks my interest. I wonder if I could try to duplicate this recipe on my own, or perhaps, make it even better. Chocolate with jam, I am having yummy envisions already. I will give it a try and let you all know the outcome. The possibilities are endless with the choice of fruit in the form of jam, dropped like a bomb in decadent chocolate. It already sounds delicious. Seriously, David’s Tea is really outdoing itself with these chocolate mixes. I wonder what’s next. Okay, on to the review, let’s skip the small talk today shall we? The dark chocolate in the bar is not of particularly great quality. It melts ever so slowly, has a very disturbing bitter taste during the melting and left over chocolate residue. The percentage of dark chocolate included in this bar is not even listed. It must be top secret, shhhhhhh! I assume that this information is lacking due to the fact that the amount is so miniscule, and yet this bar is being sold for an arm-and-a- leg. There is no justification for that price, if at least the amount of dark chocolate is not listed. I am also not impressed with the faint blueberry taste as it is just repulsive. The “blueberry jam” is actually a tea mixed with black tea, currants, blueberries, elderberries, and cornflower. This concoction is then added to the chocolate so the title can then claim “blueberry jam.” Okay then!!! The aftertaste is so bitter that I just ordered myself some food, strong food as it is needed to take away this fake chocolate with fake fruit aftertaste. I am not impressed. The only positive element is the ingredient list as it seems to be all food-based. Most points earned for the rating will derive solely from the ingredients, otherwise, I would have rated this chocolate bar down to the multiple zeros.
Ingredients: Cocoa Mass, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Blueberry Jam Tea (Black Tea, Currants, Blueberries, Elderberries, Cornflower, Stevia Extract, Natural Flavours), Soy Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 1.5 / 5.0
