I am backkkkkkk, Christmas Love, Advent Calendar edition of "Just Eat" has finally arrived. This is always such an exciting time for me, the whole package of the festivities starting with the chocolate eating, Christmas decor, melodies, presents, food, family gatherings, and giving something back to the ones that either have no voice, are sick, or not financially in a great place. This year, I plan to disperse my volunteer skill at various of the most needed establishments. I feel so blessed, and grateful for all of the wonderful things in my life that I would like to spread the positivity. Thank you very much for taking the time from your schedule to take a peek at my blog, and I really hope that you enjoy the content. Please feel free to leave a comment, or question, or just because... Let the tasting begin!
Happy Holidays! xoxoxo Soriah KINDER MIX ADVENT CALENDAR EDITION OF "JUST EAT" DAY 1 First impression is a happy one. How could it not be, beautiful and bright colours, joyful Santa Claus, gifts galore. Even the Kinder egg is assisting with the Christmas tree decorations. What a positive scene! Any child would enjoy waking up, and trotting to their daily treat of chocolate. I am also pleasantly surprised that Kinder has included a variety of treats for each day of their Advent calendar. That is a nice surprise. As for taste, the Kinder Chocolate, which is what the welcome for Day 1 is, went unfortunately a bit sour for me. It is overly sweet, quite stale to the point where I had to check the expiry date, and a bitter aftertaste that has me reaching for some salty chips. Yes, it is that bad. On the upside, the chocolate wrapper is of good quality, and the amount "gifted" is generous. ChocolisciouslyDelightful Rating: 2.3 / 5.0 Ingredients: Kinder Chocolate: Milk Chocolate with a Milky Filling: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Milk, Powder, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Soy and/or Sunflower Lecithin, Vanillin) Sugar, Skim Milk Powder, Modified Palm Oil, Anhydrous Milk Fat, Soy and/or Sunflower Lecithin, Vanillin. 33% Milk ingredients. Elongated and thin in appearance. It is a shame when you can predict the size of the chocolate prior to opening it up; meaning the company decided the take the cheap and stingy route with the small bite. The Santa Claus though seems overly proud as he is holding a huge gift in his right hand. The purple bag is full of fun toys, and I really do enjoy seeing some of those portrayed gadgets come to life such as the helicopter, and the Jack-In-The-Box. The Purple colour scheme is Cadbury's trademark, and it is actually a good look. The first day of this Advent Calendar does not start off badly. The chocolate is of a smooth consistency, a very nice melt. It is a bit on the sweeter side but not to the point where it is completely unbearable. I do like the simplicity of the chocolate. Cadbury has decided to shape their daily surprises into different festive forms. Today's theme was a Santa Sleigh. How imaginative! Overall, Cadbury has started off on a positive note. ChocolisciouslyDelightful Rating: 3.7 / 5.0 Ingredients: Sugar, Modified Milk Ingredients, Modified Palm Oil, Golden Sugar, Unsweetened Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Modified Vegetable Oil, Ammonium Phosphatides, Lecithin (Soy, Sunflower), Polyglycerol Polyricinoleate, Citric Acid, Artificial Flavour Contains: Milk, Soy May Contain: Wheat, Egg, Tree Nuts Nutriton Facts Per Piece (8.3 g) Calories 45 Fat 3 g 5 % Saturated 2 g Trans 0 g (10 % for both) Cholesterol 0 mg 0 % Sodium 10 mg 0 % Carbohydrate 4 g 1 % Fibre 0 g Sugars 4 g Protein 0.5 g Vitamin A 0 % Vitamin C 0 % Calcium 2 % Iron 0 % REESE HOLIDAY ADVENT CALENDAR EDITION OF "JUST EAT" DAY 1 Hmmmm, how do I begin this on an eloquently "safe" basis? The exterior appearance of this Advent Calendar is a bit frightful and sad. All of the characters look like absolutely nothing recognizable; I do not even know what they are. Is this part of the mediocre theme that Reese is trying to portray? It went bad somewhere along the way, really bad. Besides the penguins, I do not understand any of it. In addition, the storyline has no flow, it is all over the place. As for taste, their Day 1 treat was incredibly sweet. I could even taste the high fructose corn syrup that is incorporated in this chocolate. Why does a company like Reese want to feed kids such garbage? I do not understand it! What is the whole purpose behind making children feel sick? The chocolate also tastes like sand, a grainy texture, and if this was not labeled as safe for consumption, I would think it is some artificial non-edible kind of food. Yuck. I hope that tomorrow brings a better day for Reese. ChocolisciouslyDelightful Rating: 1.2 / 5.0 Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Milk Ingredients, Unsweetened Chocolate, Lactose, Lecithin, (Soy), Polyglycerol Polyricinoleate), Peanuts, Sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Partially Defatted Peanuts, Modified and Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil and Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Modified Milk Ingredients, Dextrose, Pecans, Corn Syrup, Solids, Cocoa Powder, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Salt, Mono and Diglycerides, Lecithin (Soy), Artificial Flavour, Carrageenan, TBHQ, Disodium Phosphate, Vegetable Oil (Soybean and/or Cottonseed), Almonds, Macadamia Nuts, Hazelnuts Nutrition Facts Per 5 Pieces (44 g) Miniatures Calories 220 Fat 13g 20 % Saturated 5 g Trans 0.1 g (26 % for both) Cholesterol 5 mg Sodium 130 mg 5 % Carbohydrate 26 g 9 % Fibre 2 g Sugars 24 g Protein 4 g Vitamin A 0 % Vitamin C 0 % Calcium 4 % Iron 8 % SMARTIES ADVENT CALENDAR EDITION OF "JUST EAT" DAY 1 Okay, we must to have a serious talk. When I first took a glance at this Advent Calendar, I did not think too much of it either positively or negatively except that it had a whole lot of stories occurring all at the same time. It is very kid-friendly, the shape is great with a tower-like appearance, and the colour scheme is busy, exactly what every child would appreciate, so you would think. If you take a closer look at all of the characters, you will regrettably notice that each and every figure cartooned has either a "scared-run-for-your-life" look, as though Michael from the Halloween movies is chasing them, or a depressive "my-life-is-dreadful" aura. Why? You would have to ask Smarties. Who would allow this to hit the stores? Only someone drunk enough at that time of production. I am frightened just looking at these images, nightmares are around the corner for me this evening. Yikes! As for taste, Smarties has failed miserably once again. This must be the worst chocolate that I have consumed in a long time. It is stale on every level, absolute dreadful to the point where I would rather eat snakes, and I am a vegan. You get the point. I hope that Day 2 is somewhat more appealing, in taste that is. Exterior is done, nothing can be changed there. Uhhh, wrong, so wrong! ChocolisciouslyDelightful Rating: 0.1 / 5.0 Ingredients: Sugar, Modified Milk Ingredients, Cocoa Butter, Unsweetened Chocolate, Wheat Flour, Palm Oil, Rice Starch, Sunflower Lecithin, Carnauba Wax, Beeswax, Natural Flavours, Safflower, Radish, Black Carrot, Lemon, Hibiscus and Spirulina Concentrates (For Colour) May contain tree nuts, egg, and soy Nutrition Facts Per 1 piece (9.4 g) % Daily Value Calories 45 Fat 2 g 3 % Saturated Fats 1 g 6 % Trans 0.1 g Carbohydrate 6 g Fibre 0 g 0 % Sugars 6 g 6 % Protein 0.5 g Cholesterol 5 mg Sodium 5 mg 1 % Potassium 30 mg 1 % Calcium 10 mg 1 % Iron 0.4 mg 2 % NIEDEREGGER ADVENT CALENDAR EDITION OF "JUST EAT" DAY 1 This is a German Brand of Marzipan chocolates that are quite famous in the town of Lubeck, where the chocolate magic began in the year 1806. I am completely surprised with the size of this Advent Calendar, and I must say that "I LIKE IT." Small, compact, colourful, happy with charming drawings. See, it is about quality, not quantity. I love the whole theme on this Advent Calendar, the happy Santa Claus reading his list, the elfs decorating the Christmas tree, cooking, wrapping gifts. Every single time that I look at it, I see something different. It is a positive story. Any child would be happy to receive this Advent Calendar. As for the taste of what they claim to be 75% Marzipan filling, it is quite deliciously. I can certainly taste a whole lot of almonds, the sweetness is balanced just right, and the recipe is clever. This is a nice and light bon bon that would pair nicely with coffee. Great job Niederegger! ChocolisciouslyDelightful Rating: 4.3 / 5.0 Ingredients: Almonds (42%), Bittersweet Chocolate 27% (Cocoa Mass, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Emulsifier: Soya Lecithins, Vanilla Extract), Sugar, Invert Sugar Syrup, Alcohol May contain traces of other tee nuts Cocoa Solids: 50% min. in bittersweet chocolate Nutrition Facts Per 100 grams Energy 498 kcal Fat 32.8 g Saturated Fats 8.1 g Carbohydrates 39.0 g Sugar 36.8 g Protein 9.5 g Salt 0.03 g LINDT LINDOR ADVENT CALENDAR EDITION OF "JUST EAT" DAY 1 Well, well, well, here we are once again Lindt. Me and you go way back! I have purchased their Advent Calendars almost every year since I began my blog; tested many of their chocolates. Christmas time is one of their busiest in all of their stores. Let's begin on a good note. Lindt certainly never fails in their illustration department as their images are always sophisticated, fun, and bold. This Advent Calendar would look great on anyone's desk, no shame here. As for the taste though, unfortunately, nothing much has changed. Ahhh, why Lindt, you have so much potential. Overly intoxicaed with sugar, just throw one more bucket in while you are at it Lindt. Uhhh. This is not "Irresistibly Smooth" as it is alleged on the box. Do not make claims that you cannot keep. My only question is why make the same mistakes over and over and over and over and over and over, okay, now, let go of the keyboard..... ChocolisciouslyDelightful Rating: 1.4 / 5.0 (for the classy packaging) Ingredients: Sugar, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Milk Ingredients, Cocoa Mass, Palm Kernel Oil, Lactose, Soya Lecithin, Barley Malt Extract, Artificial Flavour, Vanilla May Contain Peanuts and Tree Nuts Nutrtion Facts Per 2 Pieces Assorted (13 g) Calories 80 Fat 6 g 9 % Saturated 4.5 g Trans 0 g (23 % for both) Cholesterol 0 mg Sodium 5 mg 0 % Carbohydrate 6 g 2 % Fibre 0 g Sugars 6 g Protein 1 g Vitamin A 0 % Vitamin C 0 % Calcium 0 % Iron 0 % FERRERO GOLDEN GALLERY ADVENT CALENDAR EDITION OF "JUST EAT" DAY 1 Let me start off by saying how gorgeous the exterior look of this Advent Calendar is. I am truly dazzled. Also, the size and thickness of the box as well as chocolates feels generous. The facade of an Italian city is what is depicted on the front of the calendar. Beautiful you think, I call it genius! Classy, simple, and yet it works. What I also noticed about this Advent Calendar is that they offer 7 variations of bon bons for each of the 24 days. A child or an adult will always be kept guessing. Also, these chocolates are the "plentiful kinds", nothing cheappppy here!!! Taste is well balanced between sweet and salty. The whole hazelnut piece that I received on the 1st day is truly a delight. Ferrero surely knows how to balance sugar levels by adding a bit of protein (the hazelnut silly). This company must have a chocolate doctor on staff, he he he. The quality is of utmost. For that price point, Ferrero gifts delicious, and sophisticated bon bons. No disappointment here. Great job!
