GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR
A very, VERY, familiar dark chocolate bon bon with milk chocolate shavings is the selection for Day 11 of Godiva’s Advent Calendar Edition. I know that I have seen this somewhere before, perhaps a reminiscent or sentimental feeling. Hmmmm, nah! Yes, this was Godiva’s Day 2 bon bon, and the repetition continues. At least Godiva thought about leaving some days in between the resemblances so that children or adults will forget about what was their actual surprise 8 days back. Nobody will remember unless somebody is documenting these chocolates daily, somebody who is gutsy enough to honestly report, somebody like ME! I do the work, you sit back, and devour! This looks like an elegantly gorgeous bon bon that I could see being served at an upscale Christmas get-together, or any party for that matter. I adore the shavings on top, sprinkled ever so lightly to give it some “flash.” As for taste, here we go again, time to rip this bon bon apart. Consistency is regrettably absent. Unevenness from one bite to the next, and not in a good “surprise me” kind of a way. To top it off, the chocolate itself alongside the caramel is unhappily a sugar rock, meaning not only just overly sweetened to the point where my teeth hurt, but also too hard for a comfortable bite. This just looks pretty. Perhaps that is what this bon bon needs to be perceived as, a pretty face with no personality! Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Unsweetened Chocolate, Milk Powder, Cocoa Butter, Glucose Syrup (Wheat), Cream, Hazelnuts, Sorbitol Syrup, Butter Oil (Milk), Sweetened Condensed Milk, Invert Sugar Syrup, Milk, Butter, Water, Vegetable Oil (Palm Kernel Palm), Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Palm Kernel), Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Skim Milk Powder, Natural Flavour, Apple, Raspberries, Wheat Flour, Cocoa Powder, Passion Fruit Juice Concentrate, Salt, Corn Starch, Cinnamon, Malic Acid, Milk Protein, Lactose, Barley Malt Flour, Artificial Flavour, Pectin, Citric Acid Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 2.4 / 5.0 (some points for beautifulness, lucky you Godiva) ROGERS’ CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR A silver wrapped, rectangular milk chocolate bon bon is the blissful delight for Day 11 at Rogers’. Uncomplicated, and I think that Rogers’ appreciates minimalism without compromising on taste. Superb once again. Rogers’ makes me want to dance! Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Soya Lecithin, Vanilla) Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 4.9 / 5.0 PURDY’S CHOCOLATIER – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR Okay, I cannot believe this, are you all sitting down? Embrace yourselves! Purdy’s has changed its theme for Day 11 of their Advent Calendar Edition. I whistled, and they heard! Horrrrayyyyyy Purdy’s. No Bell in sight! Instead, an adorable Santa Claus themed foil is presented to us. Choice for Choco is milk chocolate. Pheeewwww, phewwww, I was starting to get apprehensive for Purdy’s, the humility would have just continued to the ground. The Purdy's factory collaborated, put their thinking caps on, scribbled, and at last, redeemed themselves a bit today with this imperative change. When I say a bit, it is because I have not yet tested their Choco. Halfway improvements though are better than none. Optimism is my middle name. Let’s devour and rate! Ohhhhh boy, not good........at all! Why does Purdy’s always exit the party on a bad note? This chocolate is terrible, and intensely terrifying. Okay, there are too many negative words in that one sentence but I would just like to emphasize that the Choco should not taste this poorly, especially for an overpriced company like Purdy’s. I am still lost as to how they manage to make this as unpleasant as it is. It is as though Purdy’s wanted to see how bad they can make the chocolate before people stop buying it. Perhaps it was deliberate, hmmm, got you thinking! I have no words. I recommend to you all to personally do your own Purdy’s tasting. Thereafter, please leave a comment in the comment box below with an honest opinion. Taste a whole range in the process, variety is key just so that you get the idea. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Unfortunately, the company did not disclose this information. I will always wonder why! Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 1.7 / 5.0 (points deducted obviously due to the lack of ingredient list and lastly, the very obvious…..) LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR It looks like a milk chocolate cremefest at Läderach for Day 11 of the Advent Calendar Edition. The bon bon is circular in shape, with a lighter chocolate on top, spread in the form of a flower. It does not look like an extravagant piece of bon bon, not in the slightest bit. Perhaps it is a cover-up, a Choco conspiracy of some sort. Let’s go ahead, and taste since the need to find out now is exciting. Oh, my luscious, It is Happy Times here at Soriah’s Chocoland. Do not let looks fool you. This is one exotic, and scrumptious piece of tasteful wonderfulness. I am high up in the sky on Choco. I can see the starts, and moon! Creaminess, smoothness, sweetness with a nut crunch in the middle = impeccable. Need I say more! The wrapping paper illustrates three little penguins ranging in size from largest to smallest, making great attempts to put up a star on top of a Christmas tree. I cannot stress enough how adorable this picture is, as weak as the mini, mini sized bar; these two were seriously meant to be together, “hand in hand.” Any child/adult, would appreciate this, and perhaps be extra helpful and polite towards their parents on Day 11. Seriously, that is the positive effect that this petite delight will have on everyone, even the biggest “stuffy”. As for the chocolate itself, well, improvements can and should be on Daniel’s priority to-do-list. Perhaps 2017 will bring about some obvious changes, most especially in regards to the sweetness of their chocolates. Trust me on this one! Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Dry Whole Milk, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Natural Vanilla Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 3.9 / 5.0 KINDER - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR Since I do not want to reiterate myself, here is a link to Kinder’s unfortunate conclusion of their Advent Calendar! Until next year Kinder, make a change to your chocolates by incorporating a variety. Children just love surprises! http://www.chocolisciouslydelightful.com/budget-friendly-and-organic-budget-friendly-chocolates/chocoblogmass-advent-calendar-edition-december-2-or-day-2 LINDT - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR Awful, Dire, Poor! I promise, the Lindt Boutique is on my to-do list for tomorrow. I will make a great attempt to return it. Whether I am successful, or not, you will know. Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Milk Ingredients, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Lactose, Coconut Oil, Hazelnuts, Palm Kernel Oil, Soya Lecithin, Barley Malt Extract, Artificial Flavour Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 0.0 / 5.0 SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR It is a duck, or a monkey, or a penguin at Sinfully The Best for Day 11 of their Advent Calendar Edition, and it is absolutely wonderful. Such an endearing charm this bon bon possesses that it is almost too much of a sweet appeal to eat. “Cake Wars competition for 2017,” is what this carver must do. Whoever you are, the talent is obviously there. All you need to do now is sign up. Make Steveston proud! This little cuddles is a dark chocolate concoction which astonishingly tastes quite right. Here it goes: Sweet rating = balanced, Smoothness = soft enough to melt but hard enough to sustain its shape, Aftertaste = bitter but on a positive note, hey it is dark Choco after all. Such a good job for Sinfully The Best today, you make me proud! Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Unknown Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 3.9 / 5.0
