BETA 5 HAZELNUT PRALINE EGG

I purchased this chocolate egg at Whole foods as it looked completely unique. I have never seen anything like it. I would have thought that it was sent by a spaceship from year 2050. Seriously. The inside of the egg is also super neat and hollow, except for the fact that there are almonds, hazelnuts, and flour flakes stuck to the walls of the chocolate. Look wise, this praline egg receives a 5.0 / 5.0, however, I cannot give the same rating for the taste. The chocolate has no wow factor. It is not overly sweet - two stars for that but, there is a faint bitter aftertaste - boo hoo. The hazelnuts and almonds are visible, but do not take up a huge chunk of the taste. How odd! That is unfortunate. I do though, appreciate the 63% dark chocolate for a bit of antioxidant action but, the aim should have been at least 70%. That is the minimum amount of cocoa needed for optimum health when it comes to chocolate. Sugar is still added to the 63% dark cocoa, and will contribute an extra few pounds. Considering the fact that I purchased this chocolate egg from an organic market, I would have anticipated a much fussier selection with their merchandise. The ingredient list contains zero organics, and there are quite a few items that I would have not expected to be included in the first place. Would I re-purchase this hazelnut praline egg, probably not. However, next time that I do entertain, this chocolate egg will definitely be included in my centerpiece. It will certainly stir up a conversation. 

Ingredients: Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Cane Sugar, Hazelnuts, Almonds, Whole Milk Powder, Flour, Butter, Skim Milk Powder, Barley Malt, Salt, Canola Lecithin, Bourbon Vanilla Pad.
