GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Once again, a reminiscent of a previous day. This bon bon has been seen before. No doubt about that! It still looks gorgeous though the second, third, and fourth time around. I adore the small little crushed nuts sprinkled ever so delicately on top, just to give it some pizzazz. The job is successfully done. This by the way is a milk chocolate that I am referring to for Day 24 of Godiva’s Advent Calendar Edition. The shape is circular, the Choco is dense enough to remember and realize that Godiva has not become thrifty overnight. They still prefer to give than receive! Taste: Creamy consistency on the inside, and the nuts provide just enough texture for a crunch on the outside. Unfortunately though, the sweetener is too dense, and the melt I would say is satisfactory. Overall, a C+ in my book.

ROGERS’ CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Milk chocolate in gold foil, ohhhhhh, it looks so rich! I cannot help but smile with the impeccable simplicity of Rogers’ chocolates. It is such a minimalist approach that they have managed to form but somehow, it all comes together to present perfection. Another daily winner here!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Soya Lecithin, Vanilla)

Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 4.9 / 5.0

PURDY’S CHOCOLATIER – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Purdy’s should be out of the running by now. They have pushed it to the limits. I cannot believe the amount of chances I have been generously giving them. Once again, a duplication that is from a very, very recent day of this "Advent Calendar Edition." At the very least, Purdy’s employees should have thought about putting a bigger gap between the same looking chocolates throughout the advent calendar. As for taste, I must admit, it is all wrong. Purdy’s has been one of the weakest contenders in this Advent Calendar Edition, and they just keep plummeting. The chocolate concoction is an insult to other chocolate makers on all levels. Do not get me started now!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Unfortunately, the company did not disclose this information. I will always wonder why!

LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Now this is Christmas! How beautiful is the milk chocolate angel holding a star from Lädearch’s 24th day of their Advent Calendar! She looks gentle, sympathetic, and remorseful but yet at the same time, a bit arrogant. Her wings are made of white chocolate but it is so minimal that the taste gets lost. Ohhhhhh, I just bit her head off, and it was delicious!!! I am truly sorry. Does it make it any better if the angel knows that I am testing, comparing, and at the same time trying to make the world a better place by bringing awareness to ingredients in chocolates? Now that I worded it in that manner, I feel a little better. The taste is spectacular, as most of the other Advent Calendar Days from this Swiss chocolate maker are. I just finished devouring the rest, and it was a creamy, indulging, scrumptious, nutty, and lastly, I want more. Now how could Läderach not realize their full potential if only the ingredient list is altered; not tweaked though as there are too many things to substitute or remove. Laderach's chocos would then be nothing short of perfection. I am looking forward to seeing this change for next year. I am eagerly waiting!!!

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Smart, oh yes, and once again sophisticated! In addition, Daniel Chocolates tries to make up for their missed Advent Calendar days with yet another mini-mini sized bar, which can qualify as an actual chocolate bar you can purchase in a local grocery store. It looks great. One of my colleagues loves them all, at least in appearance. As for taste, I do appreciate the small ingredient list as less is more in this case. My main complaint though is the glucose level. It is just a tad bit over the top, not much, jusssssttttt a little bit! He He He.

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Dry Whole Milk, Soya Lecithin (Emulsifier), Natural Vanilla

KINDER - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Since I do not want to reiterate myself, here is a link to Kinder’s unfortunate conclusion of their Advent Calendar! Until next year Kinder, make a change to your chocolates by incorporating a variety. Children will love the daily surprises!

LINDT - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Unfortunately, regrettably, sadly, sorry to say that Lindt did not make it any further in this Advent Calendar Edition Competition. Well actually, it should have been the end for them long ago, but I gave Lindt the benefit of the doubt. Despite my benevolence, their daily bon bons were outright stale and rancid. I was hopeful that there would come a day, any day for that matter where I would happily find a Choco that did not make me ill. That day never came. Here is the link to the occurrence that finally led me to say goodbye.

SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Perfect carving of what looks to be a milk chocolate Santa Claus. Hmmm, actually, upon closer inspection, the carving for today is not as flawless as the rest of the Advent Calendar Days. The drumpy faced impression does not work, and Santa’s hat is much too small for his head. Also, there is no portrayal of movement in any way or form in this Choco. I wonder why. Regardless, the taste is also disappointing. Cheap, cheap, and more cheapness. Ingredients, and of course methods are both imperative for a good dessert. In Sinfully The Best’s Case, their cheap ingredients that they source from who knows where are not doing them justice. Perhaps it is Mexico. Well, they are out of luck now as there will be a 20% tax imposed for any imports coming to the US. I believe that this took place this morning. Goodbye guacamole, ahhhhh. Nothing will ever get through without paying US taxes, especially with the huge wall that will also be built between Mexico and America. This my friends will apparently be paid for by the Mexican government from the money imposed on the taxes. It is a vicious circle. Anyhow, I am getting off this topic now as I really do not want to spend time talking about politics on my blog. It is too controversial. The only controversies that I would like to see here should be in relation to chocolate, and food. I do not want to be the burden of starting a fiery brawl. In conclusion, this Choco just did not make the cut!

    Affordable but still Savory

This blog page is dedicated to inexpensive chocolates that are continuously, to this day, enjoyed daily by many chocolate lovers out there. I still happily delve my taste buds into a good old-fashioned, so tasty, and yet simple Mr. Goodbar. To top it off, the cost allows for a much "Sweeter" satisfaction on your fuller wallet!
