GODIVA CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Ohhh, shuckalidadooo! For Day 12 of the Advent Calendar Edition. Godiva presents us with the exact same bon bon as ten days back. The only modification being is that the choice of Choco is dark instead of milk. All else is equivalent. Despite this, I must admit that the Choco still looks very pretty with its chocolate shavings on top. Actually, it is more than just pretty. The bon bon is still shining bright. Fortunately for Godiva, my boredom has not yet kicked in with this piece. It is true what they say about classics, they never lose their style. At least Godiva has one single piece of bon bon that is securing its stance within the “timeless” zone. Great work! As for the taste, comparable to yesterday’s, and ten days back, sweeeeeettttttt and sugared, and more sweeeeeeetttt, but since this is a dark chocolate concoction, nothing is overpowering. The balance is managed. Horrayyy! As for texture, the bon bon is too solid to the point where consuming one is plenty too much. The whole Choco is quite heavy, not in terms of weight but more so on whether “you can stuff yourself with more than two” type of a thing. In this case, the answer is absolutely not! One choco is a meal replacement on its own. I can see this being a good snack when you are stuck on mountain, waiting for help, firing up an SOS sign, and in dire need of calories which equals energy. See, I knew that I would find a way to indulge in these chocolates without the guilt. Now I need to get lost on a mountain! Gotta Go!

ROGERS’ CHOCOLATES – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Ohh, la la la lal, fa la la la la, “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas,” is and has been the theme at Rogers’ from the beginning with their Advent Calendar, and it is not different today. Luscious green foil paper engulfing a milk chocolate bon bon is the sensation for Day 12 at Rogers’. It is looking mighty good here today where the party never ends. Rogers’ is a festive animal. You did it again mate!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Milk, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Soya Lecithin, Vanilla)

Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 4.9 / 5.0

PURDY’S CHOCOLATIER – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Purdy’s is having visions, hallucinations, prophecies as Day 12 of their Advent Calendar Edition is equivalent to Day 3, and Day 7. What are the coincidences? “You thought that I would not notice but I caught you Purdy’s!” In fact, Day 3 is identical. I do not understand how these Chocolate Companies can run out of ideas so quickly, or lack of imagination. You can mold, melt, and carve chocolate in a million ways, why the replicas? This is not an ancient historic coin or a statue of some sort. It is not that special that it would need to be seen again! Stop! Taste wise for this milk chocolate is meagre. “Spare me the details as to why Purdy’s, just know that this is a complete disappointment.” I am not even going to define it today. I just need a breather in the “Tomato Corner.” I am now gathering my thoughts and telling myself to “Be kind Soriah!”

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Unfortunately, the company did not disclose this information. I will always wonder why!

Chocolisciously Delightful Rating: 1.9 / 5.0 (Purdy’s attempts to fool you with their cutesy little wrapping foil. Well, you ain’t fooling me!)

LÄDERACH – CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

A milk chocolate in the shape of an hexagon with parallel lines running across is the gift of choice for Day 12 of Läderach’s Advent Calendar Edition. Looks mighty proud, and quite hefty. The height is substantial for a bon bon of such caliber. I feel like this is the Titanic for Chocolates except that this Choco floats. As for the taste, I am not impressed. Läderach is having a bad “Bon Bon Day.” Actually, a terribly unfortunate day. This ineffective creation is composed of a caramel filling inside the milk chocolate. For some inexpiable reason, whenever Lädearch groups too many ingredients in one bon bon, the combinations never seem to work. That is exactly what we have going on here, too many ingredients that are completely unbalanced. Also, the caramel tastes at though it has been “CHARBROILED.” A little over-cooking or perhaps someone at the headquarters in Glarus, Switzerland forgot to stir. I do not know what went so wrong, and I cannot make any excuses for their revolting creation of the day. My conclusion is that even though striving for perfection is at an utmost wish for everyone, there are times, and days when that seems too far and out of reach. In those instances, to give up and produce something mediocre just to “get it done” is the fine line between success and failure. Perseverance, and endless attempts by trial and error until triumph is reached makes you the front-runner. That goes for whatever you are doing in life. Läderach, wake up!

DANIEL CHOCOLATES - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

You are forgiven Daniel, for giving us the exact same piece of chocolate as Day 11 of your Advent Calendar Edition. Wait a second, that was just yesterday! Gutsy my friend, extremely gutsy! These remarks are actually not meant to be negative or sarcastic in any way. I am happy, and definitely not ready to let go of these little chocolate carved penguins, and am so fortunate to see them again. I must make a secretive confession, they make my heart flutter. I am blushing! All three are little champions. “Great job at putting up the star on the Christmas Tree.” I would love to join them at their gathering as it looks like a whole lot of fun. Taste has not changed from one day to the other but if you must know the reality of it, please read Day 11. I will exit on an upbeat note.

KINDER - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

Since I do not want to reiterate myself, here is a link to Kinder’s unfortunate conclusion of their Advent Calendar! Until next year Kinder, make a change to your chocolates by incorporating a variety. Children just love surprises!

LINDT - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

I know, I know, I am going. Lindt Boutique is waiting with open arms. Trust me when I say that Day 12 is most likely just as rancid as all others. I cannot affirm to this 100% today since the Advent Calendar is not in my possession for testing but it is a prediction. I am a mind reader, he he he! Let’s just, for the sake of easiness say hmmmm, disguising!!!

Chocolisciously Delightful Ingredients: Sugar, Milk Ingredients, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Lactose, Coconut Oil, Hazelnuts, Palm Kernel Oil, Soya Lecithin, Barley Malt Extract, Artificial Flavour

SINFULLY THE BEST - CHOCOBLOGMASS ADVENT CALENDAR

A shortbread cookie shaped like a bell with a yellow lemon frosting is the “bake” of the day at Sinfully The Best for their Advent Calendar Edition. I am utterly in love with the bright colour as it screams everything, and more. Happy, joyful, cheerful are a few words that come to mind. I am in a festive, and on the same note “time for the beach” type of a mood. What else would this colour infuse except sunshine, sand, and sea. Three S’s cannot make a wrong! Okay, we are all in agreement that the appeal is a delight, but what about the flavour? Can we not just leave it on that positive note? Do we really have to go into the taste? I was almost going to let them have a free home run today since I am in a cheery mood but that would make all of the other Advent Calendar reviews unfair, partial, and biased. That is not me. This blog is about pure honesty of chocolates, there is no under-the-table type of a thing here. My audience needs to know truthfulness, and awareness in regards to everything chocolate has to offer, most especially the ingredients. Even that seems to be a failure with many companies. Anyhow, what was I talking about, oh yes, taste! Here we go: shortbread cookie is once again as its predecessor, a total fail. Such heaviness, too much sweetness, intensely solid which defeats the whole purpose of a shortbread cookie, and the broken off crumbs taste undercooked. That is a big no-no in cooking, or baking, and even the chocolate world. Come on now, did nobody do a taster pleaser at Sinfully The Best prior to packaging this? Common sense would have been crucial at this very moment, but on a positive notion, tomorrow is a new day!

    Affordable but still Savory

This blog page is dedicated to inexpensive chocolates that are continuously, to this day, enjoyed daily by many chocolate lovers out there. I still happily delve my taste buds into a good old-fashioned, so tasty, and yet simple Mr. Goodbar. To top it off, the cost allows for a much "Sweeter" satisfaction on your fuller wallet!
